Vice President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee Lê Bá Trình hosted a reception in Hanoi on August 17 for Jeffrey R. Holland, a member of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles of the Church of Jesus of Latter Day Saints.
Vice President Lê Bá Trình told his guest that as a multi-religious country where people from different religious groups live in harmony, Vietnam continually facilitates freedom to religious practice in accordance with law and encourage religious followers to contribute more to the society.
He hoped that the Church will work with the Vietnamese State to seek solutions to environment protection and climate change response, and Holland will continue discussing with US parliamentarians and political circles to strengthen bilateral ties.
Mr. Jeffrey R. Holland, for his part, informed the host that the Church has launched humanitarian assistance projects in Vietnam, including those related to clean water supply and environment protection.
He assured that following his return to the homeland, he will continue doing positive part for the bilateral ties.
