Ven. Vice President of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS)’s Executive Council Thích Thanh Nhiễu hosted on August 5 a reception at Quan Su pagoda located in Hanoi for the new Ambassador of India to Viet Nam, Pranay Verma.
Joining the welcoming reception also included Ven. General Secretary of the VBS’s Executive Council cum Chairman of the VBS’s International Buddhist Affairs Committee Thích Đức Thiện.
During the visit, Ambassador Pranay Verma recalled the historical friendship between India and Vietnam and the close Buddhist relationship between the two countries.
The Ambassador hoped that in his working term in Viet Nam, Buddhist exchanges between India and Viet Nam will be further developed and strengthened.

Speaking with the guests, Ven. Thích Thanh Nhiễu expressed hope that in his new post, the Ambassador will contribute tightening the friendship and cooperation in culture, economy and tourism between Viet Nam and India, and promoting Buddhist links between two countries.
The Buddhist dignitary also asked the Indian ambassador for his support extended to Buddhist studies by Vietnamese monks and nuns in India.
