The event was hosted by the Hanoi Union of Friendship Organizations in coordination with Embassies of Asian countries to Vietnam and the Hanoi city Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS).

Speaking at the ceremony, Chairman of the Hanoi city Vietnam Fatherland Front Đào Văn Bình hoped the foreign friends felt a warm welcome during the event and enhanced the development of ties between nations in the region.

Performing Buddhist rituals

During the event, delegates performed rituals during New Year of the Asian countries including bathing the Buddha statue, tying threads around the wrist, splashing water and color festival and a concert of folk dance and music.
