A delegation of the Annam Buddhist sect from Thailand led by Most Venerable Thích Tịnh Liên visited and met with the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS)’s Executive Committee in Khanh Hoa province on September 22.
Welcoming the delegation included Vice Chairman of the VBS Chapter’s Executive Committee in Khanh Hoa province cum Rector of the Buddhist College in the province Thích Minh Thông.
During the welcoming reception, Most Venerable Thích Minh Thông presented to the Thailand Buddhist delegation with a statue of Bodhisattva Thích Quảng Đức who protested the persecution of Buddhists in Vietnam’s Southern region.
Speaking at the reception, Most Venerable Thích Tịnh Liên shared with the hosts the history and development of the Annam Buddhist sect in Thailand. Annam Buddhist sect is a Vietnamese Buddhist sect brought to Thailand and later recognized as one of Buddhist sects of Thailand.
