State President suggests Egypt to support establishment of Halal certification centre in Viet Nam

State President Trần Đại Quang had a bilateral meeting with head of Egypt’s delegation Ibrahim Mahlab on the sidelines of the 16th Francophone Summit in Madagascar held from November 26-27.

During his meeting with the Egyptian official, President Trần Đại Quang congratulated Egypt on the successfully parliamentary election held in 12/2015. He also applauded Egypt as one of the first two Arab-African nations signing the Treaty of Amity & Cooperation (TAC) in Southeast Asia with the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN).

State President Quang asked the Egyptian side to help establish a Halal certification centre in Vietnam for standard certifications of Vietnamese goods to be exported to Islamic markets. 

For his part, the head of Egypt’s delegation said, with great potential for cooperation between the two countries in the fields of economy, trade and investment, Egypt is willing to become a gateway for Vietnamese commodities to make inroads into the region.
