Promoting cooperation on ethnic, religious affairs between Vietnam and Cambodia

Head of the Ethnic minority board in Hanoi city Nguyễn Tất Vinh hosted on May 6 a reception for a visiting delegation of the Cambodian Ministry of Cults & Religion on occasion of its official visit to Vietnam.

The delegation was led by Minister of the Cambodian Ministry of Cults & Religion Him Chem.

During the reception, Head Nguyễn Tất Vinh exchanged with the guests ethnic minority affairs in Hanoi. The city currently has 92,000 ethnic minority people belonging to 50 ethnic groups and accounting for 1.2% the city population, 57.4% of ethnic minority people in the city currently reside in 14 communes of five districts of Ba Vi, Thach That, Quoc Oai, Chuong My and My Duc.

Hanoi municipal authorities have paid due attention to the ethnic and religious affairs over the past years, he stated.

Speaking with the host, Minister Him Chhem thanked to Hanoi municipal authorities for facilitating the delegation visit, contributing to enhance the traditional friendship, comprehensive cooperation between Cambodia and Vietnam.

On the occasion, the Cambodia delegation also visited Thay and Long Dau pagodas in the city’s Quoc Oai district.
