Information Sharing Platform on Intangible Cultural Heritage in Asia-Pacific System launched

The Asia-Pacific Intangible Cultural Heritage Information Sharing Platform System named “ichLinks” has been launched by the Vietnam National Institute of Culture and Arts (VICAS) in collaboration with the International Information and Networking Centre for Intangible Cultural Heritage in the Asia-Pacific Region under the auspices of UNESCO (ICHCAP).  

Starting in 2020, first participating countries of the project included Malaysia, Mongolia, Vietnam, India, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, and Fiji.

 “ichLinks” is set to be an online platform storing and sharing a large amount of data and information on intangible cultural heritage amongst member countries of the Asia-Pacific region with searching tools, advanced browsing and information management.

The system is intended for researchers, practitioners, policymakers and other relevant audiences to easily find and locate information and data on intangible cultural heritage. They can also to promote intangible cultural heritage globally and partnering with the tourism industry for socio-economic development.

The “ichLinks” platform will be officially operative with sample intangible cultural heritage data of seven member countries from March, 2021.

Earlier, on June 25, 2020, the VICAS was chosen by the Ministry of Culture, Sport and Tourism as the Vietnamese member partner of “ichLinks”.
