In mid August, 2014, a delegation from the World Mercy Korea - a Korean Buddhist organization - led by Most Venerable Chairman Heon Ji visited Vietnam and shared about education and training of youth.

The World Mercy Korea presented Hope Scholarship to 510 poor and excellent pupils and students at a ceremony held in Ho Chi Minh City.

The World Mercy Korea plans to award Hope Scholarship to pupils and students in the Central of Vietnam after a fact-finding tour and fund raising, aimed at providing more favorable conditions for children and youth with difficulties in their studies and alleviating their parents’ burden in providing education for the children. The total budget of Hope Scholarship to pupils and students in Vietnam is estimated at 16,880,000 won.

Most Venerable Heon Ji said: “We shared the suffering by wars in Vietnam and Korea and wish to promote development of Vietnam – Korean friendship, with a optimistic vision and regard of education as the country’s future. By presenting Hope Scholarship to poor and excellent children, we hope to share with Vietnam in providing education and training for children.”
