Vice Chairman the Government Committee for Religious Affairs (GCRA) Bùi Thanh Hà hosted on June 28 a reception for a visiting delegation from the Institute for Global Engagement (IGE) led by Executive Director James Chen during a working visit to Vietnam from June 24 - 30.

The two sides had exchanges on the current religious life as well as state policies on religion in Vietnam and the U.S.
Vice Chairman Bùi Thanh Hà highlighted results of cooperation between the IGE and the GCRA over the past 10 years and stated that these coordination results have contributed to strengthen mutual understanding between Vietnam and the United States.
Regarding to the Law on Belief and Religion adopted by the National Assembly of Vietnam on November 18, 2016, the GCRA Vice Chairman affirmed that the new law has complied with the provisions of the Constitution 2013 and the international conventions which Vietnam is a member.
Executive Director James Chen thanked the GCRA for brief information on the religious life and laws on religion in Vietnam. He also expressed hope that relations of cooperation between Vietnam and IGE would be promoted in the coming time.
