Chief Executive Vice Chairman of the Government Committee for Religious Affairs (GCRA) Bùi Thanh Hà led a delegation to pay a working visit to Egypt from April 24-30.

Joining the delegation activities in Egypt included Ambassador of Vietnam in Egypt Đỗ Hoàng Long.

On April 26, the delegation had an exchange meeting with Minister of Endowments Mohamed Mukhtar Jumu'ah on State administration on Islamic affairs.

During the meeting, Vice Chairman Bùi Thanh Hà shared about the Islamic community in Vietnam. He mentioned that, with about 80,000 Islamic followers and nearly 90 mosques, the Vietnamese Islamic community has always coexisted in harmony with other religious communities in the country.

At the meeting, Minister Muhammad Mukhtar Jumu'ah highly appreciated the GCRA’s delegation visit and stated the religious cooperation between the two sides would strengthen traditional relations between the two countries.

In addition, the two sides also discussed ways to promote cooperation in the field of education, such as training Arab language for Islamic organizations in Vietnam, and religious professional training for Muslim dignitaries.

As part of the working program, the working delegation also visited several Egypt’s departments in charge of Halal certification in order to learn experiences in procedures and registration for ensuring quality of Halal products for Islamic followers.
