Mr. Michael Kidwel, Deputy Head for Political Affairs Section in the US Embassy led a delegation to visit the Government Committee for Religious Affairs on March 12.
Welcoming the guests were Chief of the Committee Office Dương Văn Khá and representatives of GCRA Departments for Protestant Affairs, Legislation and Inspection Affairs, and International Cooperation Affairs.
During the reception meeting, the GCRA and US delegation exchanged on numbers of religion-related issues, including the Draft Law on Belief and Religion and activities of religious organizations in Vietnam.
The Chief of the Committee Office also reaffirmed that the Vietnamese Party and State always respect and guarantee the right to freedom of belief and religion for every Vietnamese.
Regarding the upcoming visit of the US delegation of congressmen upon the invitation of President Trương Tấn Sang, Mr. Michael Kidwel expressed his hope that the US delegation would receive due support from the GCRA.
