Chief Executive Vice Chairman of the Government Committee for Religious Affairs (GCRA) Bùi Thanh Hà sent on August 17 a letter of congratulations to Vietnamese Buddhists in the Czech Republic, on occasion of the 10th founding anniversary of the Vietnamese Buddhist Association in the country.
In his letter, Vice Chairman Bùi Thanh Hà praised Vietnamese Buddhists in the Czech Republic for their practical contributions to socio-economic development in the host country.
The GCRA leader also called on Vietnamese Buddhist dignitaries, monks, nuns and followers at home and abroad to continue promoting and spreading the fine traditional cultural values of Vietnam.
The Vietnamese community in the Czech Republic was recognized as a national racial group in 2013 and the Vietnamese Buddhist Association was established in 2007 with the aim to bring Buddhists together for practicing the Dharma under the motto “Unite together, propagate the Dharma and promote the Vietnamese culture”.
By 2016, the Vietnamese Buddhist Association in the Czech Republic has nearly 3,000 followers with 13 Buddhist worshipping places. During the past 10 years, Buddhist dignitaries and followers in the country built five pagodas and eight Buddhist recitation temples, and engaged in many social, charitable activities for community development in Vietnam and abroad.
