Fish export to the UAE needs to follow Islamic law

04/15/2014

The Department for Quality Assurance of Agro-Forestry and Fisheries (NAFIQAD) under the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development quotes the notification of Vietnam Embassy in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) that the UAE authorities issued fish import regulations to the UAE must be certified as Hahal food (production, slaughter, process, label of seafood in accordance with the food safety of Codex and Shariah Law)

This provision will take effect on June 2014. Currently, the NAFIQAD in coordination with related ministries and agencies expect to receive an evaluation team of Ministry of Environment and Water of the UAE to inspect, evaluate and designate organizations to grant the Hahal certification.
