Chinese Buddhist Association delegation meets Vietnam Buddhist Sangha leaders

 A delegation from the Buddhist Association of China led by Most Venerable Thich Thuong Tang, Deputy Secretary of the Association, Abbot of Linh Quang pagoda in Beijing visited the central Office of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha in Hanoi on Dec. 19.

Receiving the guests included Most Venerable Thích Thanh Nhiễu, Vice President of the central Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS) Executive Council; Venerable Thích Đức Thiện, Secretary of the VBS Executive Council, and members of the VBS central Office in Hanoi.

The Chinese Buddhist delegation also visited the central VBS Office in Ho Chi Minh city on Dec. 21 and met with Most Venerable Thích Thiện Nhơn, Acting President of the central VBS Executive Council.

At meetings, Buddhist leaders of Vietnam and China agreed to strengthen friendship and cooperation, and promote exchanges of the Buddhist culture between the two countries.

Apart from Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh city, on occasion of its trip to Vietnam, the China’s Buddhist Association delegation traveled to Quang Ninh province and Can Tho city.
