VBS in Ho Chi Minh City presents ambulances to hospitals

The Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS) chapter in Ho Chi Minh city in collaboration with the “Love Saigon” program held a ceremony in the morning of September 13 for formally donating 10 ambulances to hospitals in the city and Ben Tre province. 

The ambulances, worth more than 10 billion VND in total, were donated by the Tuong Nguyen Pagoda Charity Association (eight ambulances) and the “Love Saigon” program (two ambulances). 

The ceremony saw the presence of Vice Chairman of the Government Committee for Religious Affairs Nguyễn Tiến Trọng, Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee in Ho Chi Minh City Tô Thị Bích Châu, and representatives from the health department in the city and hospitals in HCMC and Ben Tre.

As reported that, during the fourth wave of the Covid-19 pandemic in Ho Chi Minh city, the VBS charity board in the city in collaboration with Tuong Nguyen Pagoda Charity Association in District 4 have successfully mobilized resources from sponsors for purchasing and donating 19 ambulances to hospitals providing treatment of Covid-19 patients.

 

The presentation ceremony takes place at the Office of the city VBS’s executive committee based in Vietnam Quoc Tu Pagoda.

Speaking at the ceremony, representatives from the municipal authorities expressed sincere thanks to the city's VBS executive committee, Tuong Nguyen pagoda charity association and sponsors for the noble and valuable support extended to the Covid-19 prevention work.
