Government religious committee holds training on religious affairs in Central Highland region

The Government Committee for Religious Affairs (GCRA) held on October 21 a training conference fostering professional skills for key cadres tasked with belief & religious affairs in the Central Highland region.

Attending the training’s opening ceremony taking place at Dak Lak province’s Buon Me Thuot city included Vice Chairwoman of the GCRA Trần Thị Minh Nga, Deputy Director of the Home Affairs Department in the province Hoàng Mạnh Hùng, and over 100 local cadres tasked with belief & religious affairs in provinces of Kon Tum, Gia Lai, Dak Lak, Dak Nong, Lam Dong and Quang Nam.

Speaking at the event, Vice Chairwoman Trần Thị Minh Nga stated that state policies and laws on belief & religion over the past years have helped religious needs and guiding faith practices of religious followers. The GCRA official also spoke highly of practical contributions made by local cadres tasked with belief & religious affairs, and stressed that local cadres tasked with belief & religious affairs need to be equipped with professional skills on the state management on belief & religion, the advocacy work on belief & religion and thorough understanding of religious for preventing activities taking advantages of belief and religion.

The training conference taking place on October 21-24 covers key contents of state policies & laws on belief & religion, Decree 95 dated December 29, 2023 detailing articles and measures to implement the law on belief & religion 2016, new regulations of the Law of Land relating belief & religion, professional skills on religious affairs relating Catholicism, Buddhism, Protestantism and new religious phenomena in mountainous area, preventing activities taking advantages of belief and religion in ethnic minority areas, and a field trip to several religious & belief worshipping places in the locality.
