Chairman of the Government Committee for Religious Affairs (GCRA) Vũ Hoài Bắc visited on November 6 Quan Su pagoda and met with dignitaries of the Central Executive Council of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS) on the occasion of the VBS’s 43rd founding anniversary (November 7, 1981 - November 7, 2024).

The GCRA officials were welcomed by Most Venerable Thích Thanh Nhiễu, Standing Vice President of the VBS’s Executive Council.

At the visit, Chairman Vũ Hoài Bắc extended congratulations to leading dignitaries and all monks, nuns, and lay Buddhist followers of the VBS, and stated that the VBS has affirmed its important role in gathering Vietnamese Buddhist monks, nuns and lay followers, as well as practically contributed to national development over last 43 years of development.
The GCRA official expressed hope that all monks, nuns, and lay Buddhists of the VBS would continue promoting the country’s fine traditions and solidarity; and making practical contributions for building a prosperous and civilized country of Vietnam.
He also shared about the working trip to Poland of a delegation of the Ministry of Home Affairs and the GCRA led by Deputy Minister of Home Affairs Vũ Chiến Thắng from October 11-15, which included a meeting with the Vietnamese community in Poland and visits to pagodas of Thien Phuc and Nhan Hoa in Poland. GCRA official expressed his delight at the stable development and harmonious life of overseas Vietnamese in general and Buddhist followers in Poland in particular. The pagodas of oversea Vietnamese in Poland have increasingly attracted Vietnamese Buddhists and indigenous people to participate in annual religious events and activities, he added.

On behalf of the Central VBS, Most Venerable Thích Thanh Nhiễu thanked the visiting GCRA officials and pledged that the VBS is always committed to be a reliable and proactive member of the great national unity, and would continue guiding monks, nuns and lay Buddhists to practice religion in compliance with the Sangha’s Charter and the State’s laws.
