Government religious committee’s leader attends ceremony commemorating 100th founding anniversary of Caodaism

Chairman of the Government Committee of Religious Affairs (GCRA) Vũ Hoài Bắc attended on November 14 a grand ceremony taking place at the Holy See of the Tay Ninh Caodai Church. marking the 100th founding anniversary of Caodaism.

According to Rev. Ngọc Hồng Thanh, the drew the participation of about 50,000 local people and visitors. The ceremony featured the procession with a flag of the Divine Eye - the symbol of the Almighty Creator of Caodaism, and activities including dragon & unicorn dances and offerings of five-fruit trays to pray for favorable weather, national peace and prosperity, and happiness for the people.

Dragon & unicorn dance performed by 30 young people during the ceremony

Comparing with the Yen Dieu Tri Cung Festival held in January and Duc Chi Ton Festival held on the Eighth Lunar month, the grand ceremony was organized on a larger scale, with a stage for art troupes from provinces to perform traditional singing and dancing. The cultural performances lasted for three hours, attracted thousands of Caodai believers from South Vietnam and Caodai followers from aboard.

During the ceremony, while extending congratulations to all Caodai dignitaries and followers on occasion of the 100th founding anniversary of Caodaism, Chairman Vũ Hoài Bắc also expressed hope that the Caodai religion would continue promoting fine traditions and well striving for a good secular and religious life.

Releasing balloons with religious colors of the Caodaism at the end of ceremony

As reported, Caodaism is one of 16 recognized religions by the government . Established in 1926, the religion currently has 2,4 million followers, with over one million followers of the Tay Ninh Caodai church. The Holy See of the Caodai church, which is the largest religious construction of the Caodaism and located in Tay Ninh province’s Hoa Thanh district was inaugurated in 1955.
