Chairman of the Government Committee for Religious Affairs (GCRA) Vũ Hoài Bắc on December 22 paid Christmas visits and met with Archbishop Joseph Vũ Văn Thiên, Archbishop of Hanoi archdiocese cum Vice President of the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of Vietnam, and Priest Joseph Trần Xuân Mạnh, President of the Committee for Solidarity of Vietnamese Catholics, ahead of Christmas 2024.

Speaking with the Catholic dignitaries during the visits, Chairman Vũ Hoài Bắc extended merry Christmas and happy New Year to the dignitaries and all Catholic followers. He also highly appreciated the leading roles of Archbishop Joseph Vũ Văn Thiên, Priest Joseph Trần Xuân Mạnh and other Catholic dignitaries in guiding the Catholic community to practically implement charity activities, and actively engage in patriotic emulation movements launched by local authorities.
The official expressed his hope that with their positions and roles, the archbishop and the priest would continue promoting fine cultural and ethical values of the nation, encouraging Catholic followers proactively join in charitable and social activities, fostering religious unity, contributing to strengthening the great national solidarity bloc.

On the same day, Chairman Vũ Hoài Bắc joined a delegation from the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee to visit and extend Christmas greetings to Archbishop of Ho Chi Minh city Joseph Nguyễn Năng who is currently President of the Catholic Bishops' Conference of Vietnam.
