The Government Committee for Religious Affairs receives a delegation from the Institute for Global Engagement (IGE)

On July 18, 2014, at the headquarters of the Government Committee for Religious Affairs (GCRA) Dr. Bùi Thanh Hà, Vice-Chairman of the GCRA had a working session with a delegation from the Institute for Global Engagement (IGE) led by Dr. Chris Seiple, Chairman of the IGE
At the reception, Dr. Bùi Thanh Hà briefed the guests on the religious situation in Vietnam over the past time. Currently, about 95% Vietnamese population have a belief -related religious life, including over 24 million religious followers (about 27% overall population), 83,000 dignitaries and 25,000 worshipping places. Vietnam always respects and guarantees the right to freedom of belief and religion for citizens. Thanks to the fine policies of the Party, State and Government of Vietnam, there have been many positive changes in Vietnam’s religious life. The religions have co-existed in harmony, religious followers actively joined in the construction and defense of the country. He also highly valued results of cooperation between the IGE and the GCRA in organizing seminars on implementation of laws on religion …. He expressed his hope that the two sides will continue to strengthening its good relation in religion-related issues.
Dr. Chris Seiple thanked the Government Committee for Religious Affairs for its warm welcome as well as highly valued collaborative relations between the two sides over the past time. He expressed his expectation that the two sides will have more cooperation opportunities in the coming time.
