The Government Committee for Religious Affairs (GCRA) held on June 28 a meeting for the final assessment of a research project on religious practices of and state administration on Caodaism in Southern Vietnam.
Attending the meeting on the project “Current Religious Practice of and State Governance on Southern Caodaism” implemented by Ben Tre provincial Committee for Religious Affairs included members of the appraisal council headed by Dr. Vice Chairman of the GCRA Bùi Thanh Hà and Chairman of Ben Tre provincial religious committee Đào Văn Tụ.
As reported at the meeting, the Vietnam Southern religion is currently home to over 90% of Caodai followers in Vietnam, belonging to eight Caodai sects out of a dozen of Caodai denominations in the country.
The project’s results have gathered valuable information that could be used as references for both researchers and the state administration on Caodaism in Vietnam South, according to the final assessment of the project.
It has proposed feasible solutions to enhance the state governance on Caodaism but should also provide characteristics of each Caodai sect and possible differences of religious practices of Cadaism in different regions of South Vietnam, stated the final assessment of the research project.
