The Authority of Foreign Information Service under the Ministry of Information and Communications (MIC) held on October 24 a meeting to provide information on human rights and external information service in Hanoi.
The event was chaired by Director of the Authority of Foreign Information Service under the MIC Đoàn Công Huynh.
At the meeting, Chief of the Office under the Government Committee for Religious Affairs Nguyễn Văn Long affirmed religions in Vietnam made practical contributions to the development of the country. He also informed that there are 500 charitable clinics, 300 preschools, and about 2,000 charity classes of religions currently managed by religious organizations in the country.
Vietnam is a multi – religions and 95% of Vietnam’s population practices religions or traditional worships. By September 2019, Vietnam has 16 religions with 43 religious organizations and about 26 million followers (accounting for 27% the country population) with over 29,000 places of worship.
