Officials of Home Affairs Ministry and Government Religious Committee pay tribute to Most Venerable Thích Phổ Tuệ

A delegation of the Ministry of Home Affairs paid on October 22 a visit to Vien Minh pagoda located in Hanoi city’s Phu Xuyen district to pay tribute to Late Most Venerable Thích Phổ Tuệ, Patriarch of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS).  

The Minister of Home Affairs was accompanied by Deputy Minister Vũ Chiến Thắng and Vice Chairwoman of the Government Committee for Religious Affairs (GCRA) Trần Thị Minh Nga.

During the visit, Minister Phạm Thị Thanh Trà offered incense to the late VBS patriarch and sent her sincere sympathy to the Central VBS, monks, nuns and lay Buddhists in the country.

On the same day, a delegation of the GCRA led by Deputy of Home Affairs in charge of the GCRA Vũ Chiến Thắng laid a wreath and paid homage to Most Venerable Thích Phổ Tuệ.

Writing in the funeral guest book, while extending his condolences to the dignitaries and members of the VBS, Deputy Minister Vũ Chiến Thắng expressed hope that noble virtues, writings and testaments left by the late patriarch would serve as a precious treasure for the Central VBS, monks and nuns and lay Buddhists in the country and abroad to continue the path of the Buddhist Dharma and practical contributions to the national development.
