At the headquarters of Hai Phong municipal Party Committee, Mr. Nguyễn Văn Thành, Member of Party's Central Committee, Secretary of Party Committee of Hai Phong City received the GCRA’s delegation. At the meeting, the two sides exchanged about the religious situation in Hai Phong. On the same day, Mr. Nguyễn Văn Thành, representatives from local authorities and the GCRA’s delegation visited Hai Phong diocese. Bishop Vũ Văn Thiên of Hai Phong diocese received the delegation.

At the reception, Bishop Vũ Văn Thiên briefed the guests about the general situation and religious life of Catholic followers in Hai Phong, and expressed his thanks to central agencies, local authorities in Hai Phong, Hai Duong, Quang Ninh and Hung Yen provinces for favorable conditions created for religious activities in the diocese.

Mr. Phạm Dũng, Deputy  Minister of Home Affairs, Chairman of the GCRA highly valued contributions of all Catholic followers in general, and Hai Phong diocese in particular in the cause of national construction and defense. He also stated that Catholic followers have made important contributions to the achievement in socio-economic development in Hai Phong city. He expressed his hope that clergies, priests and Catholics will further promote all- nation unity bloc, and work together with the locality and the whole nation for building and defending the country.
