Hanoi Archdiocese extends traditional New Year greetings to Government Religious Committee

Cardinal Archbishop of Hanoi Archdiocese Nguyễn Văn Nhơn led a delegation to visit the Government Committee for Religious Affairs (GCRA) on January 15 ahead of the upcoming traditional Tet Festival.

Vice Chairman of the GCRA Bùi Thanh Hà welcomed the delegation.

At the visiting reception, Cardinal Nguyễn Văn Nhơn expressed Traditional New Year wishes to leaders and officials of the GCRA and took the chance to thank the GCRA for its support extended to the Church over the past years.

During the reception meeting, while extending New Year wishes to Cardinal Nguyễn Văn Nhơn and visiting priests, Vice Chairman Bùi Thanh Hà highly appreciated social responsibility of the Catholic Church in ensuring traffic safety, joining in environmental protection and climate change adaptation and proactively participate social and charitable activities, etc. He also expressed his hope that the Cardinal and Catholic Church would continue encouraging followers to practice the religion and take part in social work in accordance with the religious Charter and State laws.

Vice Chairman Bùi Thanh Hà also informed the guests about the drafting of law on belief and religion and affirmed that the Vietnamese Party and State would always create favorable conditions for the Church’s pastoral and social activities.
