Government Religious Committee reviews six-month performance

The Government Committee for Religious Affairs (GCRA) held on July 12 a meeting to review its performance in the first six months of 2023 and approved working plans for the last six months of the year.

As reported at the event, in the first six months of 2023, the GCRA has closely collaborated with concerning ministries, agencies and local authorities to well implement its functions related to religious affairs; timely guided religious organizations to practice the religion in accordance with the law; regularly inspected the implementation of the State’s policies and laws on belief and religion in localities; attached importance to religious diplomacy and human rights protection; and stepped up trainings on state administration on belief and religion for cadres tasked with religious affairs. The conference also approved eight key tasks to be carried out by the GCRA in the last six months.

Addressing the event, Deputy Minister Vũ Chiến Thắng praised efforts and achievements of the GCRA in the first six months of 2023, contributing to ensure practices of belief and religion in the country conducted in accordance with the State laws.

The Deputy Minister also urged the GCRA to review the progress of key tasks of the Ministry of Home Affairs and the GCRA’s working plans and unscheduled tasks assigned by the Politburo, the Secretariat, the Government and the Prime Minister in order to ensure their timely completion, as well as advise the Ministry of Home Affairs to consolidate the working apparatus of the State administration on belief and religion.
