Director of International Relation Department under the Government Committee for Religious Affairs Nguyễn Đức Vinh hosted on June 21 a reception for visiting Head of Political Section of the Japanese Embassy in Hanoi Tsujimoto Chika.
During the reception meeting, Director Nguyễn Đức Vinh briefed the guest functions and competent authorities of the government religious committee and overview of the religious life as well as the state policy and law on religion in Vietnam. He emphasized the facts that Vietnam is a multi-religious country and State of Vietnam always respects and guarantees people’s right to freedom of belief and religion.
The government religious committee representative also discussed with the Japanese official possible exchanges for strengthening the cooperation relation between Vietnam and Japan, especially on occasion of the 45-year diplomatic relation between the two country this year, and asked for favorable conditions extended to the Vietnamese Buddhist association in Japan by the host country.
While appreciating updated information related to religion in Vietnam, Mrs. Tsujimoto Chika expressed hope for opportunities of cooperation with Vietnam in general and the government religious committee in particular.
