Government religious committee receives US Counselor in Vietnam

Vice Chairman of the Government Committee for Religious Affairs (GCRA) Bùi Thanh Hà hosted on October 18 a reception for visiting Counselor of the US Embassy in Vietnam Noah Zaring.  

Joining the reception included representatives from the GCRA’s departments for Protestant affairs, international relation, legislation and inspection, and the committee office.

During the reception, Vice Chairman Bùi Thanh Hà shared with the guests the religious life in the country and the implementation of the new Law on Belief and Religion, and affirmed the Vietnam consistent policy for ensuring to freedom of belief and religion in the country. The Vice Chairman also expressed hope to maintain open dialogue on religious issues with the US Embassy, contributing to enhance bilateral relations between Vietnam and the US.

Counselor Noah Zaring thanked the GCRA leader for updated information on the religious life in Vietnam and expressed hope to receive GCRA’s supportive coordination in his tenure in Vietnam.
