Government Religious Committee receives prestigious ethnic Protestants from Tuyen Quang province

On July 9, at the headquarters of the Government Committee for Religious Affairs (GCRA), Vice Chairman Bùi Thanh Hà received a delegation of prestigious Protestant followers of ethnic people from Tuyen Quang province.
The 25-member delegation included 15 heads and deputy heads of Protestant meeting groups under the Vietnam General Evangelical Church (Northern) and the Vietnam Christian Fellowship Church, and led by Deputy Director of Tuyen Quang provincial Home Affairs Trần Nam Phong.
Speaking at the reception, Vice Chairman Bùi Thanh Hà highly praised achievements of Tuyen Quang provincial authorities and Protestant followers in the ten-year implementation of Directive 01/2005/CT-TTg on some tasks regarding Protestantism. He expressed his hope that local Protestant leaders would continue to guide followers to practice their religion in accordance with the law and proactively join in social movements in the locality.
Tuyen Quang province has followers of Buddhism, Catholicism and Protestantism, with about 13,000 Protestant adherents practicing at 50 Protestant meeting groups, in which 47 groups have been granted the religious registration certificate.
