Government Religious Committee receives Laos, Cambodia Buddhist delegations

On November 21, Chief Executive Vice Chairman of the Government Committee for Religious Affairs (GCRA) Bùi Thanh Hà hosted two separate receptions for Buddhist delegations from Laos and Cambodia on occasion of their visit to Vietnam for attending the 8th  National Congress of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS) in Hà Nội.

The Laos delegation was headed by Most Venerable President of the Lao Buddhist Fellowship Organisation Maha-ngon Damrongboun  while Great Supreme Patriarch Tep Vong led the Cambodia delegation.

During the receptions, while extending best wishes to the distinguished Buddhist dignitaries, Vice Chairman Bùi Thanh Hà expressed his pleasure at the growing relations between the Buddhist Sangha of Vietnam and the Buddhist churches of Laos and Cambodia. The participation of Laos and Cambodia Buddhist delegations in the 8th  National Congress of the VBS contributed to the strengthening of Buddhist relations, as well as the friendship between Vietnam and Laos and Cambodia.

Speaking with the host, Most Venerable President of the Lao Buddhist Fellowship Organisation Maha-ngon Damrongboun and Great Supreme Patriarch of Cambodia Tep Vong expressed hope that through the participation in the VBS’s eight congress, the relationship between the Buddhist Sangha of Laos, Cambodia and Vietnam would be further consolidated and strengthened.
