Vice Chairman of the Government Committee for Religious Affairs (GCRA) Nguyễn Tiến Trọng on January 18 hosted a reception for the visiting delegation from the Vietnam Baptist Church led by Pastor President Nguyễn Võ Khánh Giám.

Joining the reception included Head of the GCRA’s Protestant Affairs Division Thiều Thị Hương.
During the reception, Pastor President Nguyễn Võ Khánh Giám had exchanges with the host results religious affairs and development of the Church in 2023. According to the pastor president, the Church’s congregations in provinces of Ca Mau, Dien Bien and Thanh Hoa have been granted certificates of recognition, and opened training Bible courses; Quang Ngai authorities have approved 2,000 m2 of land for building a religious worshipping place of the Church, etc. Especially, the Baptist Church together other Protestant churches and the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association have successful organized the "Spring of Love" program in Ho Chi Minh City on March 4-5, 2023.
On behalf of the Baptist Church, Pastor Nguyễn Võ Khánh Giám took the chance to thank the GCRA for its supports extended to the Church and extend best wishes to officials and staff of the GCRA, ahead of the Lunar New Year (Tet) 2024.

During the reception, Vice Chairman Nguyễn Tiến Trọng highly appreciated the Church’s achievements over the past years and had exchanges on Decree No. 95/2023/NĐ-CP detailing a number of articles and measures to implement the Law on Belief and Religion, replacing Decree No. 162/2017/NĐ-CP officially promulgated on December 29, 2023 and taking effect on March 30, 2024.
The Vice Chairman expressed hope that the church would continue promoting its fine values and guiding members to practice religion according to the state’s laws and the church’s motto.
On the upcoming Lunar New Year 2024, Vice Chairman Nguyễn Tiến Trọng extended Tet wishes of good health and success to the President Pastor, pastors of the Church’s Executive Committee and all lay followers.
