Government religious committee official receives Hanoi International Fellowship, Vietnam Union of Superiors General

Vice Chairman of the Government Committee for Religious Affairs (GCRA) Nguyễn Tiến Trọng hosted on February 1 a reception for a visiting delegation of Hanoi International Fellowship (HIF) led by Pastor Jacob Bloemberg, ahead of Lunar New Year (Tet) 2024.
Joining the reception included Head of the GCRA’s Protestant Affairs Division Thiều Thị Hương.
During the reception, while extending warm Tet greetings to the GCRA’s officials and staff, Pastor Jacob Bloemberg informed the host the religious activities of the Protestant community of foreigners in Vietnam over the past year, and took the chance to thank to the GCRA for favourable conditions extended to religious practices of foreigners in general, and the members of the HIF in particular.
Speaking with the guests, Vice Chairman Nguyễn Tiến Trọng spoke highly of activities of the HIF, the community foreign of Protestants of more than 50 countries in the Vietnam. The GCRA official shared with the guests the Decree 95 dated December 29, 2023 detailing articles and measures to implement the law on belief & religion 2016, and affirmed the Vietnam’s consistent policy of respecting and ensuring people's freedom to belief and religion. He expressed hope that Pastor Jacob Bloemberg and the HIF would reflect on the reality of freedom of belief and religion in Vietnam, in order for the U.S. State Department to better understand and remove Vietnam from the Special Watch List on religious freedom.
Hanoi international fellowship extends Tet greetings to GCRA
On the occasion, Vice Chairman Nguyễn Tiến Trọng extended a traditional new year of happiness and success to Pastor Jacob Bloemberg and all members of the HIF.
On the same day, Vice Chairman Nguyễn Tiến Trọng received a delegation of the Vietnam Union of Superiors General led by Sister Vice President Lý Thị Bích Quyên, on the occasion of the Lunar Year of Dragon.
Vietnam Union of Superiors General pay pre-Tet visit to GCRA
During the event, the vice chairman highlighted social and charitable contributions made by Catholic orders in general, and the union of superiors general in particular, in promoting religious resources for socio-economic development of localities.
