Government Religious Committee official extends Vesak celebrations to VBS in Ho Chi Minh city

Vice Chairman of the Government Committee for Religious Affairs (GCRA) Nguyễn Tiến Trọng paid May 30 a visit to Most Venerable Thích Thiện Pháp, Vice Standing President of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS) Executive Council cum Chairman of the VBS’s Central Committee for Supervisory and Legal Affairs in Ho Chi Minh City, ahead of the Buddha’s Birthday Festival 2023 (B.E. 2567).

During the visit, Vice Chairman Nguyễn Tiến Trọng extended joyful celebrations of the Buddha’s Birthday 2023 to Most Venerable Thích Thiện Pháp, dignitaries of the VBS’s Southern Office, Buddhist monks, nuns and lay followers. He affirmed that over the past years, the VBS has actively encouraged Buddhists to join social programs and patriotic movements launched for promoting sustainable development in the country.
He expressed hope that, with the motto “Dharma – Nation- Socialism”, the VBS and Buddhist monks, nuns and lay followers would continue upholding fine traditions of the VBS, well observe the Party and State’s policies and guidelines, and strengthen the great national unity bloc.
Speaking with the guests, Most Venerable Thích Thiện Pháp thanked the GCRA offcial for his visit and took the chance to share about performances of the VBS’s Central Committees for Clergy Affairs, Supervisory and Legal Affairs over the past years.
