Government religious committee official attends national congress of Vietnam (Binh Duc) Caodai Church

The 3rd national congress of Vietnam (Binh Duc) Caodai Church was successfully convened on December 14 at Hoang Dao Holy See located in Trung An commune of Tien Giang province’s My Tho city.  

The one-day event saw the presence of 200 Caodai dignitaries and deacons representing members of the Church.

Guests at the congress included Vice Chairwoman of the Government Committee for Religious Affairs (GCRA) Trần Thị Minh Nga, Director of the GCRA’s Caodai Affairs Department Đinh Quang Tiến, and representatives from local authorities of Tien Giang, Ben Tre, Long An and Dong Thap and the exchange alliance of Caodai sects.

The Vietnam (Binh Duc) Caodai Church was officially recognized in 2011. For the term 2015-2020, the Church has recorded many outstanding results in affairs, including the organization of doctrinal training courses, reconstruction of oratories, social charities including supports for the poor, building of charitable houses, with an estimated funding of over one billion VND.

The national event of the Caodai sect has approved its revised Charter which contains 100 articles arranged in 12 chapters, and elected 9 members to the central executive body of the Church for the 3rd term (2020-2025) with Archbishop Lê Văn Tròn selected as Head of the Committee.

Addressing at the event, Vice Chairwoman Trần Thị Minh Nga spoke highly of practical contributions for socio-economic development by the Vietnam (Binh Duc) Caodai Church over the past ten years implementing its new Charter and motto of action. She also expressed hope for a continuous promotion of the Church’s fine traditions and proactive involvement by the members of the Church in social movements for the socio-economic development in localities.
