Government religious committee leader receives Vietnam Pure–land Buddhist Association delegation

Chairman of the Government Committee for Religious Affairs (GCRA) Vũ Hoài Bắc hosted on August 20 a reception for a visiting delegation of the Vietnam Pure–land Buddhist Association led by Rev. Nguyễn Ngọc Ánh, Chairman of the association.
Joining the reception included Vice Chairman of the GCRA Nguyễn Ánh Chức.

Speaking at the event, Chairman Vũ Hoài Bắc spoke highly of practical contributions made by the Pure–land Buddhist Association in social charities and environmental protection and especially medical charities using traditional herbal treatments for helping millions of disadvantaged people. The GCRA leader also extended congratulations to the success of the 4th national congress of the Vietnam Pure–land Buddhist association for the 2024-2029 term, and expressed hope that the association’s Central Executive Committee would continue promoting fine traditions, enhancing collaboration with local authorities in implementing state policies & laws.

While appreciating the GCRA leader’s warm reception, Rev. Nguyễn Ngọc Ánh extended congratulations to the 69th founding anniversary of the GCRA, and shared with the hosts outstanding achievements in religious affairs of the Buddhist association over the past five years. According to Rev. Nguyễn Ngọc Ánh, from 2019-2024, the association’s central executive committee has spent over 2.4 billion VND on the social and medical charities.
As reported, the Vietnam Pure–land Buddhist Association currently has 212 medical clinics with over 1.5 million followers, located mainly from Nha Trang to Ca Mau cities.
