Government religious committee leader receives Bishop of Lang Son

Chairman of the Government Committee for Religious Affairs (GCRA) Vũ Chiến Thắng hosted on January 13 a reception for Bishop Joseph Châu Ngọc Tri of Lang Son Diocese, ahead of the Vietnam traditional New Year (Tet) 2020.

During the reception, Bishop Joseph Châu Ngọc Tri thanked the government religious committee for its due care and support extended to Lang Son Diocese over the past year, and extended wishes of good health and success to the GCRA’s leader and employees in the traditional New Year of the Rat.

While appreciating Bishop Joseph Châu Ngọc Tri for the Tet visit, Chairman Vũ Chiến Thắng spoke highly of Catholic contributions in social, medical and educational charities in the country.

The GCRA leader also expressed hope that the bishop and priests of Lang Son would continue encouraging and guiding parishioners in the diocese to observe state laws, and took the chance to extend a traditional new year of happiness and joy to all dignitaries, clergymen, clergywomen and lay people in the diocese.
