Vice Chairwoman Trần Thị Minh Nga speaks at the ceremony
Over the past 35 years, the Vietnam Buddhist Research Institute aimed to building a platform for academic Buddhist studies, meeting the learning and research needs of Vietnamese monks, nuns, and Buddhists at home and abroad. It is the most authoritative and prestigious agency in terms of research and translation of Vietnamese Buddhist scriptures. Throughout its formation and development, the Buddhist Institute has been contributing to the country's Buddhism with valuable research, translation, and Buddhist works, especially the Vietnamese Tripitaka.
These outstanding achievements have marked contributions of Most Venerable Thích Minh Châu, an exemplary Buddhist educator, an active international Buddhist leader, a talented diplomat, and especially a typical scholar and translator of the 20th century and the early years of the 21st century, who was also the founder of the Buddhist Institute, she added.
