During a working visit to Rome from September 20-22, Chairman of the Government Committee for Religious Affairs (GCRA) Vũ Chiến Thắng paid visits to several congregations of the Holy See.
During the visits, the GCRA leader met with Cardinal Femando Filoni, Prefect of the Congregation for the Evangelization of Peoples, Cardinal João Bráz de Aviz, Prefect of the Congregation for Institutes of Consecrated Life and Societies of Apostolic Life, and Under-Secretary for Relations with States Antoine Camilleri.

During the visiting receptions, Chairman Vũ Chiến Thắng shared with the hosts current practices of Catholicism in Vietnam and the state policy respecting the freedom of belief and religion in the country. He also asked the Holy See’s ministers to provide further guidance for Vietnamese Catholics to practice the religion in ways that conform to the church’s teachings and contribute to the shared development in the country.
The Holy See’s ministers had also exchanges on current works of the congregations for the evangelization of peoples and for institutes of consecrated life and societies of apostolic life, and expressed for more dialogue and cooperation with Vietnam.
