Government religious committee leader extends congratulation to 14th general conference of CBCV

Chairman of the Government Committee for Religious Affairs (GCRA) Vũ Chiến Thắng on September 30 visited and extended congratulations to the 14th general conference of the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of Vietnam (CBCV) taking place in Hai Phong diocese.
Welcoming the GCRA leader included Archbishop President of the CBCV Joseph Nguyễn Chí Linh and members of the CBCV’s executive committee.

At the visiting reception, while congratulating the 14th general conference of the CBCV on, Chairman Vũ Chiến Thắng highly appreciated practical contributions made by Catholics to the socio-economic development of the country, especially in the fields of health, education and vocational training, etc.
He expressed hope that the CBCV would choose talented and virtuous candidates to lead the Vietnam Catholic Church and guide Catholic followers to proactively join in social movements, contributing to the development of the country.
The Chairman took the chance to update developing relations between Vietnam and Vatican in recent years.
Archbishop Joseph Nguyễn Chí Linh took the chance to thank the government religious committee for creating favorable conditions extended to the Catholic Church over the past years.
The 14th congress of the CBCV for the 2019-2022 tenure has been taking place in Hai Phong diocese from September 30 to October 4.
