Government religious committee leader extends Christmas wishes to Catholic Bishop’s Conference of Vietnam

Chairman of the Government Committee for Religious Affairs (GCRA) Vũ Chiến Thắng led a delegation to meet with the Executive Committee of Catholic Bishop’s Conference of Vietnam (CBCV) on December 18 on the Christmas season.

The GCRA leader accompanied by Vice Chairmen of the GCRA Bùi Thanh Hà and Trần Tấn Hùng was welcomed by Archbishop President of the CBCV Joseph Nguyễn Chí Linh, Bishop Vice President of the CBCV Joseph Nguyễn Năng, Bishop General Secretary of the CBCV Peter Nguyễn Văn Khảm and Archbishop Deputy Secretary of the CBCV Joseph Vũ Văn Thiên.

During the visiting reception, while extending merry Christmas and happy New Year to the Executive Committee of the CBCV as well as Vietnamese Catholic dignitaries and followers, Chairman Vũ Chiến Thắng hailed practical contributions made by the Catholic community in socio-economic development achievements in 2018 in the country.

The GCRA officials also had exchanges with the hosts on issues related to the implementation of the Law on Belief and Religion and its Decree 162.

Archbishop Joseph Nguyễn Chí Linh thanked the GCRA Chairman for exchanges on the implementation of policies and laws, and expressed hope for more meetings and exchanges between the GCRA and the CBCV in the coming time.
