Government religious committee leader attend 59th death anniversary of the founder of Pure-land Buddhist sect

Vice Chairman of the Government Committee for Religious Affairs Trần Tấn Hùng attended a ceremony held on October 2 at Hung Minh Tu founding temple in Ho Chi Minh city to commemorate the 60th death anniversary of Patriarch Minh Trí, Founder of the Pure-land Buddhist Association.
During the event, the Central Executive Committee of the Buddhist association recalled great contributions of Master Minh Trí – Founder of the Buddhist sect to the development of the Buddhist association.
After the commemoration ceremony, the Central Executive Committee also reviewed its performance in the first six months of 2018.
Speaking at the ceremony, Vice Chairman Trần Tấn Hùng spoke highly of practical contributions by the Pure-land Buddhist Association to the socio-economic development in the country over the past years, especially medical charities for the poor using traditional medicines.
On the occasion, the executive committee of the Pure-land Buddhist Association and four medical boards of the association’s chapters received certificates of merit of the Ministry of Health for outstanding achievements in the development of Vietnam traditional medicine.
