01/13/2017

All officials and staffers of the Government Committee for Religious Affairs (GCRA) have attended its year-end meeting held on January 11.

The meeting highlighted resulted of the state governance on religion implemented by the government agency on religious affairs over the past year, including the drafting of Law on Belief and Religion which was passed on November 18 last year by the National Assembly and the performance providing guidance for religious organizations to operate within the legal framework and contribute to socio-economic development in the country.

The meeting also pointed out limitations and key tasks for the state administration in the field of religion, as well as practical issues to be addressed in the time ahead. Accordingly, in 2017, the government religion committee will focus on drafting of decrees guiding the implementation of the newly approved law on belief and religion, enhance professional skills amongst GCRA’s staffers, speed up the administrative reform within the state sector on religious affairs, and maintain close coordination with concerning authorities for satisfactorily addressing religion-related land disputes, contributing to meet religious needs of people across the country.
