Government Religious Committee holds religious affairs training for officials in Central Region

The Government Committee for Religious Affairs (GCRA) in collaboration with the Committee for Religious Affairs in Gia Lai province opened on November 20 a training course for officials tasked with religious affairs from 19 provinces and cities in Central Region.

The event saw the presence of Deputy Minister of Home Affairs Vũ Chiến Thắng, Chairman of the GCRA Vũ Hoài Bắc, Deputy Director of Home Affairs Department cum Chairman of the provincial Committee for Religious Affairs Hồ Hải Tần and 180 cadres tasked with religious affairs from 19 localities in the Central region.

The training course was a part of the plan implementing the Prime Minister’s decision signed on January 11, 2022 on professional training for officials tasked with belief and religious affairs in the 2022-2026 period.

The training aimed to update information and professional skills of the state administration on belief and religion for all cadres tasked with belief and religious affairs in the Central Region.

The event covered in-depth contents of Catholicism, Protestantism and State administration on Catholicism, Protestantism among ethnic communities in the Central region; difficulties in the implementation of the State laws on belief and religion; amended contents of the draft decree replacing Decree No. 162/2017/ND-CP detailing a number of articles and measures to implement the Law on Belief and Religion; and security work in the field of belief and religion, etc. 

Addressing at the event, Deputy Minister Vũ Chiến Thắng urged participating cadres and officials to actively engage in discussion and exchange of experiences with the training reporters on belief and religious affairs.
