Government religious committee holds legal workshops for officials, Protestants in Bac Kan

The Government Committee for Religious Affairs (GCRA) organized three legal workshops for local officials and key followers of Protestantism in Bac Kan province on March 22-27.  

Attending the events included over 160 dignitaries, deacons and  heads of local Protestant congregations and over 300 district and commune-level officials in the province.

Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Lý Thái Hải and and Deputy Director of the provincial Department of Home Affairs Triệu Văn Hồ attended opening ceremonies of the workshops.

Main speakers at the events included Vice Chairman of the GCRA Bùi Thanh Hà Acting Director of the GCRA’s Protestant Affairs Department Thiều Thị Hương and Chairman of the provincial Committee for Religious Affairs Lương Ngọc Tuyến during the workshops. During the events, They briefed key contents of current policies and laws on religion in general and Protestantism in particular, Protestantism in the world and Vietnam. Workshop participants also engaged in discussion of practical issues relating Protestant practices in the province.

On occasion of Easter 2018, the GCRA delegation visited and presented gifts to Protestant congregations of Che Pang, Pu Luon, Na Shia, Phieng Nghe and Nam Dam in Pac Nam district’s Cao Tan commune.
