Government Religious Committee holds legal workshop for key Protestants in Dak Lak

The Government Committee for Religious Affairs (GCRA) held on May 20-21 a conference for guiding the implementation of laws on Protestant practices for over 300 key members of the Vietnam Evangelical Church (South) in Dak Lak province.

Attending the event included Chairman of the GCRA Vũ Hoài Bắc, Deputy Director of the provincial Department for Home Affairs Hoàng Mạnh Hùng and Chairman of the provincial Committee for Religious Affairs Đặng Tuấn Cường.

Speaking at the event, Chairman Vũ Hoài Bắc highly appreciated practical contributions made by local Protestants for socio-economic development in the locality. He expressed hope that through the guiding conference, local leaders of the Evangelical Church would continue guiding members to practice the religion in accordance with the State laws and closely work with local authorities, contributing to prevent against violations of state laws and abuses undermining social unity.

The conference focused on key contents of the Party’s guidelines and the State’s policies on belief and religion including Decree 95 dated December 29, 2023 detailing articles and measures to implement the law on belief & religion, and legal provisions relating to religion-related land and construction. The event also had exchanges and discussion of practical issues relating the implementation of the belief & religious law and difficulties relating religious practices by Protestant churches and congregations in the province.
