The Government Committee for Religious Affairs, (GCRA) held on May 28 a conference for updating related knowledge and laws for its officials and staffs.
The even saw the presence of Chairman of the GCRA Vũ Chiến Thắng, Vice Chairwoman of the GCRA Trần Thị Minh Nga and about 100 GCRA’s staffs and employees.
The one-day conference covers the religious life and state governance on religion in the past five months presented by the GCRA’s office and changes to laws on officers, public servants and stimulation & reward presented by experts from the ministry of home affairs.
Regarding the the religious life and state governance on religion in the past five months of 2020, the conference informed that the religious organizations in the country have strictly observed the Prime Minister’s directives and the GCRA’s six guiding dispatches for the Covid-19 prevention and control.

During the pandemic, in-person celebrations of Christian Easter and Buddhist Vesak have been canceled, and the national congresses of some Cao Dai sects and annual conferences of Baha’i and Tu An Hieu Nghia (Four Debts of Gratitude) faiths have been postponed.
In addition, religious organizations and individuals have made practical supports to the nCov prevention and control work, including donations of 21.4 billion VND in cash, eight pressure-rooms, millions of handmasks, and thousands tons of rice, etc.
Later in the day, new contents of the Law on officials and officers and the Law on public servants to take effect on July 1 and the home affairs ministry’s latest circular on stimulation & reward have been highlighted during the conference.
