Joining the event taking place in An Hoa temple located in An Giang province’s Phu Tan district also included representatives of the Vietnam Fatherland Front’s Central Committee and local authorities, and a large number of Hoa Hao Buddhists.

Speaking at the event, Vice Chairman Nguyễn Ánh Chức spoke highly of practical contributions made by Hoa Hao Buddhists, including the construction of rural bridges, road and charitable houses, provision of free medical examinations for poor patients, supports to Fund for the poor, the blood donation, Victims of Agent Orange Foundation, and presentation of scholarships to excellent students of disadvantaged families.

The GCRA official also asked the Hoa Hao Buddhist’s Central Executive Committee to wisely select outstanding individuals to be nominated to the Executive Committee for the 2024-2029 tenure.

Large number of Hoa Hao Buddhists attend the event

As reported, Hoa Hao Buddhism currently has over 400 local executive boards in 17 provinces and cities. The social charities implemented by Hoa Hao Buddhists from year 2019 to 2023 was valued at about 2,500 billion VND.

In the first six months of the year, Hoa Hao Buddhists have spent over 400 billion VND on social charities in localities, with 45 billion VND in An Giang province.
