Government religious committee extends congratulation to Buddhist communication on Vietnam Press Day

A delegation from the Government Committee for Religious Affairs (GCRA) extended on June 11 a visit to the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS) on occasion of the 95 anniversary of the Vietnam’s Press Day (June 21, 1925-June 21, 2020).  

The delegation, headed by Vice Chairwoman of the GCRA Trần Thị Minh Nga and joint by Deputy Director of GCRA’s Buddhist Affairs Department Nguyễn Phúc Nguyên, Deputy Editor in chief of the GCRA’s Religious Affairs Department Dương Thị Thúy Thịnh and Head of the Information Section under the GCRA’s Information Center Bùi Quang Nhượng, was welcomed by Most Venerable Thích Gia Quang, Vice President of the VBS Central Executive Council cum Head of VBS’s Information and Communication Committee.

At the visiting reception, Vice Chairwoman Trần Thị Minh Nga congratulated the VBS’s information & communication committee and Buddhist Studies Magazine on occasion of the Vietnam’s Press Day, and thanked Most Venerable Thích Gia Quang and the VBS for its close collaboration in studies of Buddhism over the past 20 years.

The GCRA official also expressed hope that the Buddhist information & communication committee would futher communicate VBS’s social charities for spreading and promoting love-sharing, as well as closely collaborate with the government religious committee in communicating State policies and laws. 

Most Venerable Thích Gia Quang thanked the GCRA delegation for its visit and congratulation, and affirmed that through the press units and magazines of the Buddhist Sangha, the VBS’s information and communication committee will continue promoting and spreading noble values of Buddhism, as well as enncouraging Buddhist monastics and lay Buddhists to make practical contributions in the country.

Earlier on the sam day, the GCRA delegation met with Seniour Venerable Thích Đức Thiện, Vice President of the VBS’s executive council cum General Secretary of the Buddhist Sangha at Quan Su Pagoda, and extended congratulations to editors, journalists and collaborators of the VBS’s Electronic Executive Center, An Vien TV Channel and press units, on occasion of the Vietnam’s Press Day.
