Right after the information and videos published in newspapers and internet with alleged superstitious activities in Ba Vang pagoda, the Government Committee for Religious Affairs (GCRA) on March 20 sent separate official notes to Quang Ninh provincial religious committee and the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha’s (VBS) Executive Council.
According to the note No. 267, the GCRA asked the VBS’s Executive Council to check and take timely action to prevent and handle with violation (if any), and to inform the press its action result.
According to the official note No. 263, the GCRA also asked the committee for religious affairs in Quang Ninh province to collaborate with relevant departments and agencies to verify Lao Dong Newspaper’s report and take timely action to address violations (if any) as well as report results to provincial People’s Committee and the GCRA before March 25.
