Government Religious Committee asks religious organizations for continued implementation of preventive measures against Covid-19

The Government Committee for Religious Affairs (GCRA) sent on April 24 a dispatch to religious organizations asking for their continued implementation of measures preventing the coronavirus recurrence in the country.
In the dispatch sent to all 43 religious organizations the GCRA requested their instruction in order to ensure the strict implementation of the Prime Minister’s Directive No 16 and the GCRA’s Dispatch No 233 by religious individuals and subordinate organizations in provinces and cities classified as still having high risks of the nCov pandemic
In remaining localities, the government religious committee recommended religious organizations to cancel religious congresses, conferences and religious services of large gatherings, not to send members to attend religious events abroad, and not to receive religious dignitaries from overseas, especially from pandemic regions.
In addition, religious organizations are also urged to instruct religious individuals and subordinate organizations in localities to continue taking all preventive measures for controlling the nCov spread as recommended by the Ministry of Health.
In the dispatch, the government religious committee also praised religious organizations for their active response and practical contributions to national, provincial regulations and programs designed to prevent and control the spread of the epidemic.
As reported, religious organizations in the country have presented a total of VND 20 billion and many material supports to the Covid-19 preventing and controlling efforts, and strictly observed the Prime Minister’s Directive No 16 by provide prompt guidelines for cancelling or suspension of many important religious events as well as religious services of large gatherings in April.
